Nodachi has taken delivery of the new Rhino Arc motion panner for the Rhino Slider.
Rhino Arc uses an internal motor and rechargeable battery to pan your camera a full 360 degrees. A beautiful OLED screen lets you know the status of Arc and if it’s paired to Rhino Motion. The platform supports camera setups as heavy as 15lbs and only weighs 1lb 1oz. The Rhino Arc installs directly on to the Rhino Slider’s carriage, it has its own internal battery and is connected to the Rhino Motion controller with an included cable. Rhino Motion has had a firmware update, and now recognises the Arc and syncs its motion.
Setting up your move is as easy as pointing your camera at your subject using the wheel on Rhino Motion from each end of the slider. After the initial setup, your camera will automatically pan in any mode in Rhino Motion as your carriage moves.
Rhino Arc makes difficult panning shots easy with simple motorised control.

Last month, Nodachi worked with the innovative design agency, PriestmanGoode for their latest animation for the launch of United Polaris, the new business class experience for United Airlines. Working alongside the visualisation team at PriestmanGoode, Nodachi helped to recreate the 3D aircraft cabin interior within a green screen environment. We used our lighting expertise to recreate interior airplane and airport conditions and assisted PriestmanGoode and United Airlines in directing the actors to portray the comfort and luxury of the new United Polaris experience. We had some fairly complex lighting setups to recreate, to aid us we used our Black Magic ATEM Switcher to give us a live chroma key on set to match up camera angles, and lighting on our actors. The resulting stills was first shown at the global launch of United Polaris in New York City. Received to wide acclaim, it has since appeared on some of the world’s most high profile press outlets including CNN, Mashable and the Huffington Post.
See below for some behind the scenes and the final images.

Last month Nodachi undertook the challenge to shoot 25 products from one of the largest distributors of wines in the UK. Accolade wines – owner of award winning brand Hardys, commissioned us to shoot their product lineup in a lifestyle scenario. We worked with their marketing department to develop “personalities” for each of their wines and then shoot them in scenes where they would be most fitting. We used a combination of studio and location techniques to create a perfect lifestyle exposure that featured studio style reflections on the bottles. The result was location shots that looked like they were sets built in a studio.
Nodachi has been busy shooting a film for the new Microsoft Surface Pro featuring Rudimental, shot in Major Tom’s Studio in Hoxton, and the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Have a look bellow at the final film, and our Flikr album on Abbey Road.
